How to Simulate Slow Internet Connections
When I was debugging for Markdown for Keyboard Maestro (v 2.1.3) I needed a way to slow down my Internet connection so that I can find possible problems with timeouts for the New Link macro. This is a post by Craig Hockenberry on how the connection can be slowed down. There are some easy to use methods like Speed Limit and Slowy app, but OS X’s firewall can also be used to slow down the connection speed. The advantage of Slowy is that it also simulates packet loss, which I think is a great feature for such an app. It’s rare that developers optimize for slow connection speed.
